Why Study Film?
Film is an approach to move beyond "watching" a film, and towards "seeing" a film.
Many films are just plain fun to watch. There are other films that are so carefully crafted, that almost every element is designed to communicate something unique to the viewer. There are several approaches we can take to discover those hidden gems. Often, a film's meaning or impact transcends its original design. Some films come to be considered art that defines an age or generation.

- Film Theory – examines film from a range of theoretical perspectives
- Film Genre – addresses film in terms of typical elements of a type of film and how those conventions communicate.
