Narrative video

PRE PRODUCTION​
  • Brainstorm ideas and formats for a narrative video 
  • Copy or transcribe the text from your chosen narrative piece into a new Google Doc. Upload that doc on the assigned Brainstorm Form. 
  • Break your narrative into a 2 column script. Use the provided two column script on Google Classroom 
  • Plan for your video to be at least 1 minute long, but not longer than 3 minutes. 

PRODUCTION
  • Create a new folder on the D Drive called "Narrative Video and your name
  • Take your two column script and match video to audio etc. This will be your edit list too. 
  • Acquire or record voice, natural sound, SFX, record narration if needed
  • Shoot or acquire all video assets
  • Import all assets into your project folder​

​POST PRODUCTION
  • Create a new Adobe Premiere project called Narrative and save it to the above folder
  • Import your assets from your D Drive folder into your new Adobe Premiere project
  • Follow your script to create your narrative edit
  • Endeavor to use new Premiere tricks as they are discovered.

In addition to Adobe Premiere, you are permitted to use the following editing software: (However; the grade of A will be harder to come by if the project is not edited in Premiere.

  • Adobe Rush
  • Apple Imovie
  • Davinci Resolve

  • Shoot your own footage with a cell or camera.
  • Check out these stock video footage sites
  • Download video from YouTube etc
  • Creative Commons
  • Audio download sites
Remember that you can not post anything on social media with copyright materials! Always check twice.
