  • See Fave Apps for suggestions
Be ready at all times
  • Be on the ready at all times for a story.
  • Check and double check all sources.
  • Don't rely on what you think you see
  • Consider your reading audience for each article. Who will read this and where?
  • Don't get stuck in one location. Scout and scour.
  • Use the correct format and tone throughout your articles. Don't change in the middle.
Nuts & Bolts

In this unit, you will mimic the life of a reporter by developing stories, and writing stories to deadline.

News can include anything that happens during the reporting period. It can be related to school, local, regional or national news. News can include just about anything - as long as it meets the traditional requirements for "News".

Once you've acquired all the audio and video reports you need, you will edit them into separate
"packages" that can be used as stand-alone news pieces.
