"The ideal citizen is the student-athlete; a man of thought and a man of action."

I was instrumental in developing the pioneering Media program for Absegami HIgh School in New Jersey. That program served as a national model for early adoption of Media Literacy and Video Production for high schools in the Eighties. During that time, I served as Co Chair for the Assembly On Media Arts in the National Council for Teachers of English. My media company, The Media Factory specialized in corporate communications.I currently hold memberships in the National Association for Media Literacy Education, the International Society for Technology in Education, The Society for Professional Journalists and the National Basketball Writers Association.
I left the classroom in 2000 to work with the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding as their Director for Media Resources. In that capacity, I developed audio/video products, wrote for various periodicals and presented nationally on subjects like Youth Culture and Media. Following my stint with CPYU, I served as Director of Development and Communication / Assistant Chief School Administrator for the Atlantic Christian School in Egg Harbor Township , NJ. In 2012, I was hired by the Atlantic County Institute of Technology to develop both a new Media Academy and a new basketball program. I've recently embarked on a new educational journey to amplify my classroom and professional experience with studies in Instructional Technology with the University of Maryland. My family resides in a small bay-side town in southern New Jersey, where we enjoy boating, fishing and the beach. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, and even after living all over the US and Europe, Philly remains my favorite city. The Philadelphia Eagles are a passion, and I enjoy the incredible culture and history of the city. I enjoy both cooking and eating, film, reading and music. |
